32, ovarian tumours
Each successive diagnosis of a tumour has
brought with it new fears, reassessment of
priorities and a test of my inner strength.
However, I am only to look into the eyes
of my beautiful son to give me the resolve
to carry on, to deal with the nightmare and
to face the ordinary (and extraordinary)
challenges that life throws up every
single day. It's easy to ask "Why me?" but
I have to remind myself how fortunate
I am in other ways - to have my son,
my family and friends and quite a
comfortable life. There is a need to focus
on what is really important and to
remember that old adage, "Don't sweat
the small stuff."
