53, breast cancer
I have always seen the positive in everything.
If down the track it's proved to be negative,
oh well, that's just life experience. I have
led a charmed life with a wonderful family
around me and a challenging, fulfilling career.
I am always excited to meet new people and
do new things. Having cancer and surviving
the treatment has given me many new,
enriching friends and put me on a huge
learning curve. Prior to having cancer I thought
my life was winding down, with retirement in
the near future and my energies transferring to
my vegetable garden and chooks. Now I feel
more alive. It reminds me of when the children
went to school and I suddenly had a new lease
on life and wondered what I would do - that's
where I am now. I wake up happy every day.
